HI there Glasgow girls this is interesting as i am an Air bnb host believe me we get as much lack of support sometimes as you . Seems to be a glitch where your payments come in two parts so nearer the time i was showing payment not received ? however always manage to contact the guest or Air bnb support .or suggest the guest does so too . Obviously as a responsible Air bnb host i would never leave any guests stranded particularly female s this should have been considered a safe guarding issue . Same thing happened to my friend who s son and a few friends booked an apartment in London again no wild parties in mind two nice boys and their girlfriends host would not let them in ? They tried to contact Air bnb too no support glad their were a mix of guys who could look after their girlfriends totally un acceptable . Seems to be happening more in cities i am based in a small town . i am getting feedback from my guests about too much data being asked of them seems like Air bnb does not like the guest to know the host and vice versa . Why ? prefer transparency on both sides . I feel as a host lack of support and pressure to accept bookings as penalties for me can be severe classic example of sudden illness no one wants to let guests down but sometimes it can happen thats when Air bnb should take over to find guests an alternative not sure that happens . Again getting poor feedback which is totally over the top !! and in consistent with my very good reviews, They always make a point of saying its your call and business and you are in control of your bookings more and more i feel thats not the case . Guest re add campaign its your property which implies a sense of entittlement that isnt there moving furniture etc i can do what i want particularly on longer lets of course we want you to feel like its a home from home but it is licence to stay only not an assured shorthold tenancy mixed message . Just wondering if any fellow hosts feel the same and could share their experiences posted here . As i now feel a bit like Big Brother is watching slightly un comfortable now ,

Air bnb have no interest in customers
Air bnb have no interest in customers. We had a very bad experience at a property we rented recently in Las Lagunas where someone let themselves into our property with a key and stole all of our cash. This is not the first time this property has been burgled but the managing agents, owner and Airbnb are all totally disinterested and I am nor being allowed to write a review to warn other travellers I will never trust or use Airbnb again.

Completely failed to deliver on Aircover Guarantee
Host tested positive for covid on the day we were due to stay. He did everything he was supposed to, Airbnb however did not. Airbnb state you're covered by their Aircover guarantee and that they will categorically find you alternative accommodation in scenarios like this and that there is a 24 hour helpline you can call.

All we got was a text saying our accommodation had been cancelled asking if we needed help finding more. We replied yes (Pride Weekend and Wireless Festival in London = nightmare) and then spent the whole afternoon messaging the issues portal (you don't get the 24 hour helpline number until someone in Airbnb accepts the case) begging for help and getting stock replies saying it was being forwarded to someone else "better able to help".

We ended up booking emergency travel home as the website is completely unclear about what happens with on the day cancellations and whether they'll cover non-Airbnb hotels, plus whether refunds are cash or Airbnb vouchers (answer: all depends on the situation). We eventually got a call from Airbnb America (we're in the UK) offering to start looking for alternative accommodation (it's gone 10pm at night by this point) as our case had escalated to them. We explain we couldn't risk being liable for a £500 emergency hotel bill and are now on way home. Asked Airbnb to refund us what we had to spend on travel back and also lost on event tickets booked for that weekend. The lady who got our case tried hard to get it for us but they refused to give us a cash refund because we "didn't follow the Airbnb processes". The fact that we hadn't been sent the "what your options are now you've been cancelled" email, hadn't been contacted by an ambassador within two hours as per their policy and had not had our case picked up by the Airbnb UK issues centre were apparently not mitigating circumstances for why we didn't know what to do.

The America lady did eventually get us some Airbnb vouchers although not for the full amount we lost and sent a very apologetic email saying she'd really tried her best but it was a case of "system says no". Without her personal efforts (she genuinely felt awful for us) I doubt we'd have got anything or ever heard from Airbnb UK.

My advice: during covid times book 'sole occupancy' properties if you're going to use Airbnb. And if you go abroad make sure your travel insurance covers emergency hotels in case Airbnb fail you completely the way they did us.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH AIRBNB! I'd give a -1 if possible. Booked apartment in Glasgow for July back in November. Money taken as usual, then a week before due to arrive, contacted the host. Nothing. Tried again a couple of times before we went - still nothing. Contacted airbnb to advise and they said they contacted the host and they were sending us the key info. Got to Glasgow and the same issue. No host, no help from airbnb - even though we were asking how can you let 3 women with luggage sleep on the streets of Glasgow! No help, no empathy and the listing is still up for others to go through this stress. Disgusting and very unsafe

Works fine until you have an issue.
I’ve used Air Bnb for many years, it works fine until the moment you have a problem.

The moment they need to step up they are an absolute disaster.

I stayed in a place which:
-had cockroaches
-flooded
-stank of sewers.

Air bnb resolution to this issue which affects my personal health was a disgrace.

I am very very disappointed of how little they care about the homes published in their page. I expected more.

Property that doesn't exist and still no refund
Turned up in London to a property it did not exist, went to another that also did not exist. I put through a refund but because it was now 11pm I had to wander streets at night.

The customer services at air bnb was shocking. I was suggested to go to a bar or cafe to stay off the streets and had messages ignored for days. I am still awaiting refunds 12 days later!!

I also reported these fake listings at the time and have looked today they are still on the site available for others to have their time away ruined

Shocking company open to scams I will just stick to hotels and hostels from now on not these cowboys

Cancelled my reservation a week before with no explanation
Cancelled my reservation a week before, no explanation just received an email saying my deposit would be refunded. Checked with bank and the balance had not been requested for any of the attempted bookings. Spoke to host she had been told we had cancelled no explanation! Luckily I have managed to rebook but this was after 3 attempts.

AIRBNB ARE CROOKS! they have no customer service and I lost booking because of their mistake, I thought I'd give Airbnb a go as never used them before but never again, go with booking.com I've never had a problem with them and great customer service

Pathetic service
Pathetic service.
I booked one night's stay at a farm house via Airbnb. 5 days prior, the hostess cancelled my booking which was already confirmed. The host told me that they were not sure how I was allowed to book 1 night only when their booking policy is 3 nights. It was not written anywhere that the minimum is 3 nights booking. They were new to this and might not have discussed it with Airbnb. But once the booking was done, it should be honoured.

I talked with Airbnb customer service and they agreed that the host needed to honor my booking. Unfortunately, it got cancelled.

Businesses are only looking into how to get more and more people book through their platform but when there is an issue these platforms are not stepping up to resole the issue. This is not a right way of doing business. Customers are always the bearer of the bad service.

I've never done a review this bad but it was worth mentioning that the host (Chris and Nicola) for the below Farmhouse in Dyffryn Ardudwy could cancel on you anytime so be careful.

I booked a 3 night stay with airbnb and after my stay I wrote a review on their website only for airbnb to remove my review because they didn't approve of the things I had written, I gave a very poor review for the simple reason the hosts description of his property (luxurious west kensington apartment)was not what we experienced, food left from previous guests, dirty towels in the washing machine, a used bar of soap in the shower cubicle, I could go on but thats the general picture, I had seen the reviews for the apartment we had booked and all were excellent but looking back none of the reviews were up to date so I can only assume there were no up to date reviews is that airbnb remove those they don't approve of, please be aware if there are no recent reviews there is a reason for this.

Accommodation was cancelled twice.
I decided to go with Air bnb as the location I'm going to didn't have hotels within a walking distance.
I have never used Air bnb prior to this and will not use ever again.
3 weeks before my holiday the host cancelled my stay.
- no problem i thought, its 3 weeks before I'll find another place.
Found another place, further but still walking distance, (more expensive of course). 4 days before my flight the host cancelled....
The stress and expenses of a last minute booking are ridiculous. Wishing now I would have just booked the closest hotel and rented a car. Would have been cheaper and a lot less stress.

The fact hosts can cancel on you without penalty or much warning is ridiculous considering if you did the same you'd be penalised with costs!!

I would seriously reccomeded to anyone going away to book a hotel instead. It might be more pricey but would you rather pay 100 quid more or not know wether or not you have a place to stay until the day before you go?

Shocking !
Shocking !! If I had not contacted our host the day before departure I would have travelled 10hours by car to discover no accommodation. The host said that they had taken the listing down last year - she lied, they had reviews this year!! Anyhow - contacted Airbnb for support - here is the part that really annoys me, I was asked if I would like to cancel? Luckily I asked the question what happens if I cancel - Well only partial refund. Seriously? The host to-be tells me the day before there is no accommodation and Airbnb thinks they can rip me off. So after some debate they agree to cancel and fully refund me, but I just have to wait 15 days before I can get my money back. That is not customer service Airbnb !! Oh and the listing is still active. No mention from Airbnb they would sanction the host in any way

A hidden gem in Tenbury wells🥰
I have stayed at 8 Kyrewood court The Pulp house several times what a gem of a find.Before it was advertised on Airbnb...You will not be disppointed. Extremly cosy.Quiet and peaceful a beautiful place to stay the owners have gone over and above with this gem.Extremly clean and caters for all your needs.The beds are huge and very comfortable.With everything close by.Tenbury wells is a great place to visit Quaint shops+ cafes also a great restaurant 3 x pubs with great food.Also Mr. Toms chocolate shop which has opened a cafe+a restaurant recently.The Pulp house is close to Ludlow and Ludlow has a beautiful Castle worth visiting.
Not far away is Leominster+Hereford. Jackie the host is very knowlegable and friendly and will answer any questions you may have. The Pulp house is beautiful and has far reaching views as the lounge is on the second floor and is set in a beautiful location.The photographs do not do it justice it certainly has the Wow factor when you walk through the door.There are plenty of beautiful walks surrounding the pulp house and you could even take bikes as the roads are safe. Lots Orchards nearby that you can walk around and fields.This is a home from home you can go to anytime of the year. I have been in the Spring,Summer,Autumn and even spent Christmas here. So I highly recommend this hidden gem and will be going back again very soon. Won't be a hidden gem for long now I have told you. Go on try it you won't be disappointed...😊
